Police Track Down Chestnut Ridge Woman Accused Of Stealing From Tip Jar

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Chestnut Ridge woman who was accused of stealing money out of a tip jar at a gas station in Airmont on Tuesday has been charged with resisting arrest for fighting with the cops who tried to arrest her.

The unidentified 23-year-old woman got into a fight with two people and the store clerk after she was confronted about stealing the money, Ramapo Police said.

The store alerted police who manage to track the woman down at a nearby hotel and while placing her under arrest she began pulling away from officers, forcing causing them to use physical force to get her under control, police added.

She was charged with petit larceny and resisting arrest and released. She is scheduled to appear in court next month.
