Florind Siggia, 90, Of Dumont

DUMONT, N.J. -- Florind Siggia, a resident of Dumont for 56 years and formerly of Hackensack, died Thursday, March 24. He was 90.

He served as a medic in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He owned and operated Mar Flo Inc., an architectural woodworking business until his retirement in 2004. He was a lifelong member of the Dumont Lions Club, serving as president, past president and governor for New Jersey. He was active in the Dumont VFW and was honored to be the grand marshal of the Memorial Day Parade in 2015.

He is survived by his children, Kathleen Rhein and her husband Gilbert and Michele Pennetti and her husband Ronald; and his grandchildren, Ross, Mariel, Justin Rhein and Jennifer Pennetti.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack. Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
