Wallington's Mayor Expresses Concerns Over Flooding

WALLINGTON, N.J. -- Wallington Mayor Mark Tomko expressed concerns about flooding that took place in town and the apparent lack of help by federal agencies during a meeting on Jan. 28, according to NorthJersey.com.

Tomko said he feels much of the flooding issues are the result of marshland development that pushes water into the river as well as redirecting of the Passaic River in the 1960s to accommodate construction of Route 21, NorthJersey.com reported. 

Tomko said one possible solution would be to dredge the river, NorthJersey.com said.
