Humanist Author To Speak In White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The 2008 Harvard Humanist of the Year is set to speak in White Plains on Sunday, March 23. 

Author and editor Dale McGowan will speak at the Ethical Culture Society of Westchester in White Plains.

Author and editor Dale McGowan will be the guest speaker at the Ethical Culture Society of Westchester at 7 Saxon Wood Road in White Plains. The free program begins at 10:30 a.m. Child care is available. 

McGowan, whose books include “Parenting Beyond Belief,” “Raising Freethinkers,” and “Atheism for Dummies,” teaches nonreligious parenting workshops across the U.S. and serves as executive director of Foundation Beyond Belief, a non-profit putting compassionate humanism to work for a better world, representatives said.

Ethical Culture is a liberal religious and educational fellowship without formal creed or dogma. The Westchester society recently celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in White Plains.
