"As we mark the events that took place in Orlando early Sunday morning, we are comforted by the strength and compassion of people worldwide, and here in Glen Rock," a post on the church's Facebook page says. "We stand with Orlando and pray for the lives lost, for LGBT communities around the world, and for an end to gun violence."
The 8 p.m. vigil at 40 Central Avenue is open to all, organizers said.
In addition, Glen Rock Mayor Bruce Packer said he will join a "Stopping Gun Violence" rally at noon in front of Rep. Scott Garrett's office (266 Harristown Road).
"Common sense should prevail over the interests of groups that profit from continued sales of unnecessary weapons," Packer said.
