EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The Junior League of Central Westchester (JLCW) has some tricks up its sleeve as preparations begin for one of its biggest fundraisers of the year in White Plains.
Prepare to be mesmerized at the spring fundraiser, Magic and Mingling, on April 26 at The Coliseum in White Plains. There will be magical treats, a buffet dinner, a silent auction and a performance by magician Dan White.
White is internationally-acclaimed and has mystified audiences around the world. He created and stars in the Discover Channel program “The Supernaturalist,” where he travels through Nepal looking for the miraculous. He is the head magic producer for David Blaine and is a creative consultant for illusionist David Copperfield.
In addition to White’s performance, there will be a silent auction with a series of fantastic prizes, including autographs from local sports stars, Broadway tickets, a week-long vacation in the Dominican Republic and a shopping party for 20 at high-end retailer Rebecca Taylor.
Tickets can be purchased for $85 each through April 16, at which point they will increase to $100. Admission includes dinner, an open bar and entertainment. There will also be a raffle, with the two American Airlines tickets going to the winner.
Proceeds from the Magic and Mingling fundraiser will be used to support JLCW programs that promote health and wellness, provide food and necessities to the underprivileged and help preserve community history and promote volunteerism.
JLCW President Lauren Wyler-Smith said that this fundraiser is not one residents are going to want to miss. Tickets can be purchased online.
“Magic and Mingling promises to be the event of the season. We are so excited to have Dan White performing, and the array of items we have for the auction is amazing, there is something for everyone,” she said. “The funds raised for the JLCW will be incredibly helpful in our mission to improve the local community through charitable works.”
