Long Island Apartment Fire Under Investigation

An investigation is underway after an apartment fire broke out on Long Island.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene in Woodbury at 114 Fairhaven Boulevard off Jericho Turnpike at about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30.

After observing heavy black smoke emitting from the building, police evacuated all nearby apartments and made sure that no one was still inside. No injuries were reported.

The Syosset Fire Department responded and was assisted by the Plainview Fire Department, Bethpage Fire Department, Huntington Manor Fire Department and the East Norwich Fire Department. 

All told, there were approximately 10 pieces of apparatus and more than 50 firefighters involved. Arson/Bomb Squad detectives and Fire Marshalls responded to the scene.
