WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York will hold its annual Westchester Shopping Day on Dec. 6 from 8:30 a.m.to noon at the Kmart in White Plains.
Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, Catholic Charities’ executive director, will lead a group of board members, staff and volunteers to shop for needy families currently being served by Catholic Charities throughout the county. The volunteer shoppers are given profiles of families that include their specific needs for specific items such as winter hats, gloves, coats, boots and more. All of the items are bought with donations previously made to Catholic Charities’ St. Nicholas Project. The Kmart in White Plains is in the Crossroads Shopping Center at 399 Tarrytown Road (Route 119).
