The new story will be “Splat Says Thank You!” by Rob Scotton.

The second selection will be up and running through Sunday, July 5.

This is a story about friendship and perfect for the upcoming summer months. Splat the Cat’s trusty mouse friend, Seymour, needs cheering up, and Splat wants to help. He’s been working on something special for Seymour: Not just a thank-you card but a thank-you book.

His book lists all the sweet and often hilarious reasons Splat is thankful for their friendship. The funny adventures that Splat and Seymour have had together, complete with animated illustrations and a laugh-out-loud text from bestselling author and illustrator Rob Scotton, will leave Splat fans thankful to know this cat-and-mouse duo.

The City of White Plains Recreation and Parks Department, in partnership with the White Plains Public Library, has been pleased to introduce StoryWalk at Bryant-Mamaroneck Park. The StoryWalk combines a children's story with a popular walking route. Children's books are selected, the pages separated, laminated, and placed along a walking path at regular intervals so readers can follow the story as they walk the route.

The StoryWalk is an opportunity for parents, teachers, and caregivers to provide a fun and healthy activity for young children.

“We hope that families will return to the park regularly to enjoy the changing stories on our StoryWalk and in doing so, get the added benefit of experiencing the park during different seasons,” said Roach.

Updates on the changing stories can be found on the Recreation and Parks Department website.

The Bryant-Mamaroneck Park is on the corner of Bryant and Mamaroneck Avenues. The park entrance is on the Mamaroneck Avenue side. Parking is available in the City of White Plains Mamaroneck Avenue parking lot (lower level).
