Community Service Day provides volunteers with an opportunity to serve the community at various service-based organizations. The result is thousands of hands-on service hours donated to the neighborhoods surrounding the Berkeley College locations.

Community Service Day is an initiative of Berkeley Cares, which throughout the year assists charities in the critical areas of food, shelter, health and student success.

In White Plains, volunteers will work at three locations:

  • Volunteers will host breakfast for members and plant flowers from 10 a.m. to noon at Gilda’s Club Westchester, 80 Maple Ave. Gilda’s Club offers support to those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
  • Volunteers will sort and pack food donations from 9:30-11 a.m. at Food Bank for Westchester, 200 Clearbrook Road, Elmsford.
  • Volunteers will landscape the front and playground areas from 10 a.m. to noon at the White Plains YMCA, 250 Mamaroneck Ave. If there is inclement weather, they will clean and organize offices.
