The building and repair of boats and ships of all sizes has long been a vital part of occupational culture during the history of the Hudson River area. While the construction of boats has changed dramatically over the years, the art of traditional boat building is being revived at key educational sites in New York. Reflecting 200 years of maritime tradition, this exciting exhibition will profile master craftsmen, their tools and the landmark boat yards where they work, historical timeline displays, models and actual boats that they have built. For more information about additional, free Saturday programs associated with this event, visit www.artswestchester.org/from-shore-to-shore.

This project is made possible with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Humanities and the New York State Council on the Arts. Presented by ArtsWestchester, in collaboration with Long Island Traditions.
