All Welcome At Unity For Israel Evening In Scarsdale

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A community-wide Israel solidarity program, “An Evening of Unity with the People of Israel,” is set for Monday, Nov. 2 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale at 255 Mamaroneck Road in Scarsdale.

A keynote address will be delivered by Amir Sagie, the Israeli Deputy Consul General in New York, who coordinates the political work of the Consulate in the tristate area, developing relations with national, state and local officials. The full list of speakers is still in formation.

The program is being sponsored by AJC Westchester- Fairfield, Hillels of Westchester, The Jewish Education Project, Kol Hazzanim-the Cantors of Westchester, Rosenthal JCC, UJA-Federation of New York, and the Westchester Board of Rabbis. In addition, over 40 synagogues and organizations are partnering on this program. Visit www.wjcouncil.org for a full list of partners.

The event is being organized by the shlichim of Westchester, Yoav Cohen and Yael Lewis.

“In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Israel, we feel it is critically important to bring the entire Westchester community together to show our unity and continued support for Israel,” said Elliot Forchheimer, Executive Director, and Westchester Jewish Council.

“We encourage everyone, regardless of affiliation, to join us at this very important event.”

This program is free and open to the community.
