Through Nov. 22, ShopRite stores throughout Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester Counties will collect donations at checkout and host in-store activities and events to support the hospital’s mission to provide the very best in advanced pediatric care to the region’s most seriously ill and injured children.
This is the second year ShopRite has partnered with Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), to support the hospital’s commitment to provide care to more than 30,000 critically ill infants and children each year.
ShopRite has raised more than $300,000 for Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital to date, the funds provide lifesaving and life-changing care to thousands of local children each year, including those in need of open heart surgery, brain surgery, cancer treatment, trauma and burn care, organ transplants and more
“We are honored to stand beside Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and its efforts, which have a tremendous impact on so many children and families in the communities our stores serve,” said Tom Urtz, vice president of operations, ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. “The hard work and creativity of our store associates coupled with the generous contributions from our customers make it possible to support this partnership, which is very near and dear to our hearts. We continue to hear stories about the wonderful care and guidance our customers – and employees – have received from the staff at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital during tough times, as having an ill or injured child can be incredibly challenging. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to help make a difference.”
To supplement the in-store campaign, ShopRite will lend its support during Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital’s 11th annual 100.7 WHUD Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon, which will take place Nov. 18 and 19 from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Nov. 20 from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. 100 percent of the funds raised will benefit the hospital.

Participating ShopRite stores include Bedford, Carmel, Cortlandt, Croton, Fishkill, New Rochelle, New Paltz, Scarsdale, Poughkeepsie, Thornwood, Tuckahoe and White Plains.
