White Plains PC Users Group To Host Cyber-Security Expert

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Westchester PC Users' Group will present Bob Gostischa, a technology and cyber-security expert, at its Sept. 3 meeting.

The event is from 7-9 p.m. at 120 Bloomingdale Road, White Plains.

The presentation will provide an in-depth understanding of the loopholes and pitfalls of using a computer and browsing the Internet, according to a press release. It will decrease the likelihood of you becoming a victim of the many common scams that await the uninformed user, according to a press release. 

Discover how some threats hide in unexpected places, and learn the difference between privacy and security and what you can do to enjoy both, according to a press release. 

Also included will be a discussion of programs that will keep you and your computer safe and secure. Gostischa also will be pointing out some basic computer safety tips, as well as simple procedures that will increase your security. 

Also covered will be the safety and security recommendations for the Android smartphone and tablet. Gostischa will simplify, clarify, and demystify what you need to know to stay safe, according to a press release.
