The city Recreation and Parks Department program will be taught in the Chang style. The goal of this style is to achieve harmony of the body, mind and spirit, according to a city release. The slow, rhythmic movements also tone muscles and improve overall fitness and endurance.
Classes are from 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays between April 15 and June 10 at the community center on 65 Mitchel Place.
The program costs $104 for White Plains residents and $128 for non-residents and is for those 18 years or older. You may register at the Recreation and Parks Department on 85 Gedney Way.
Tai Chi can help reduce stress and relax the mind, according to the release.
