Walmart Greeters Not Only Welcome Shoppers, They Deter Shoplifting

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Walmart stores throughout the country, including its White Plains location, plan to undergo some rather visible changes in the upcoming months, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The “greeters” that were once a fixture at Walmart store entrances have been assigned to various other duties in recent years, but due to shoplifting concerns store executives plan to switch to the old system, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The greeters will once again not only be responsible for making customers entering the store feel welcome, but also performing “asset protection” duties such as checking some receipts when people leave the store, according to The Wall Street Journal.
