WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Sologic eTrees, which provide a public space for rest, shade, free WiFi and a place to cool water are being planted all around the world, according to a report by Fromthegrapevine.com.
The project was created by Israeli entrepreneur Michael Lasry, who said its design is based on the southern Israeli acacia, a species of desert tree that grows near pockets of underground water.
One of the missions of eTree is to connect the community through a special montioring system, install a camera and microphone under each tree to display historical and geographical data about its location and to allow people to communicate and chat worldwide, the report said.
