Jeorjia Shea recently opened Quirkshop on North Division Street. The artisan boutique is the first of its kind in the city, she said.

Shea said she was originally drawn to Peekskill by its artists’ lofts and community.

Since then, she said, she has “cultivated a wonderful collection of both customers and fellow artisans.”

The spot she finally picked to open her boutique attracted her with both its interior and location, Shea said.

“I knew this was the perfect location to showcase my upcycled cashmere and unique designer fashions,” she added.

Shea also sell hats, gloves, scarves, jewelry and other accessories.

She makes all of her creations right in the shop, so customers can custom order her upcycled fashions.

Quirkshop also serves, Shea said, as a place where people can not only explore the art for sale, but become inspired to create their own.

Quirkshop, at 23 N. Division St., is open from noon to 7 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays, and on Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment.
