Daily Voice is seeking story ideas about new businesses in the Hudson Valley, as well as store closing stories that may have gone unreported by traditional news organizations. We're also interested in stories about the new-age of working from home or on the road.

The Hallmark store in Thornwood, Florsheim Heller's Shoe Store in Pleasantville and Mrs. Green's grocery stores including one anchored at the former Lester's Store in Rye are just three recent examples of stories where Daily Voice readers have asked for updates and more details.

Daily Voice encourages its readers as well as the region's entrepreneurs to email us tips about new and old business stories -- as well as potential profiles on interesting owners/financiers who are boldly going where no one may have ventured before.

Are you crowdfunding for a new cellphone APP to help cancer patients? Daily Voice will promote that concept. Is dog walking or driving for Lyft or Uber your new livelihood in the global economy -- and helping to change the urban and suburban landscape? Please let us know the details.

And these ideas do not just need to be business owner driven: If you are a reader and work on the road in Westchester for a living, please let us know ideal places that you work/dine from in this ever-changing workplace environment. Beyond the predictable Starbucks, McDonalds, Dunkin' Donuts or other popular wireless hangouts, do you have a favorite restaurant or public library that provides ideal conditions that keep you employed, and satisfy your employer/customers when you are traveling and out-of-the-office?

Last but not least, do you think your town or village is "business-friendly" or are its elected leaders and public boards/local laws enforcing unreasonable obstacles to new development or longtime establishments? Daily Voice will investigate any tips on those trends, too.

Daily Voice Special Editor Jon Craig, former assistant managing editor, will be leading this DV initiative. The Pleasantville native worked for weekly newspapers before joining Daily Voice in 2014. He previously worked for the Gannett Westchester-Rockland Newspapers (now known as the Journal News), Syracuse Newspapers and several Ohio daily newspapers as a Statehouse reporter and bureau chief.

Keep it simple. Writing tight, attaching a couple of strong, personal closeup photos and key Internet links will go a long way to placing your story at the top of Jon's to-do list. But most of all, let us know which stories you like by sharing them with your friends and colleagues, or letting us know which ones bomb.

Stories can include business owners or affiliates in the Daily Voice coverage area which includes Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam counties,
