Butterfield 8 Adds Location In White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – John Gazzola has opened a third location for his gastropub Butterfield 8 in his hometown of White Plains.

“The feeling here is business professional meets social scene, which I think is an appropriate fit for White Plains,” Gazzola, owner of Butterfield 8, said in a statement.

The American restaurant and bar has two other locations, in Manhattan and Stamford, Conn. The White Plains location, at 147 Mamaroneck Ave., seats about 80 people in the dining room and about 30 people in and around an island bar. An additional 20 seats will accommodate diners in good weather.

There are 24 beers on tap, and signature cocktails include The Rye Beach (Grey Goose la poire, Cointreau noir, grenadine, fresh-squeezed lime and club soda), Dragon Berry Mojito (Bacardi dragonberry rum, muddled mint, fresh-squeezed lime topped with soda) and Post Road Punch (Captain Morgan, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, orange juice).

Executive chef Matt Safarowic, who will be visible from his open kitchen, said, “Having my own kitchen and free reign to create my own menu is a dream. I am truly excited about what we’ve created at Butterfield 8 and think that White Plains and the greater area will be, too, when they come in and taste the food.”

Safarowic previously worked at The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry and Zuppa in Yonkers.
