Al Jazeera America is closing both its digital and cable operations by April 30, the news outlet announced Wednesday.
CEO Al Anstey cited an unsustainable business model amid U.S. media economic problems.
Last month, the network aired a report that linked Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to Human Growth Hormone.
Anstey called Al Jazeera America's staff “a brilliant team."
"In the months to come, we will do everything that we can to support you, to work with you and to ensure you are shown the respect you deserve," he said.
