Z Hospitality Group made the announcement Monday that it would close the restaurant, which has been in downtown Westport for 20 years.

“We’ve had an amazing run and are very proud of the legacy we’ve created,“ Z Hospitality Group owner Ramze Zakka in a statement.

“With a heavy heart, we have made the decision to close the restaurant as it is time to move on and continuing to work on developing our other concepts. We are so overwhelmed by how the community has embraced us and we thank all of our supporters and will miss all our friends here in Westport.”

The restaurant is known for its Mediterranean fare.

Z Hospitality Group will remain in the area, continuing to run restaurants in Greenwich, Norwalk, Fairfield County and Rye, N.Y.

New locations are expected to open this year in White Plains, N.Y., and Danbury.
