Jessica Galligan Goldsmith of Armonk, Stuart Berg of Chappaqua, Steven Goldman of Nyack, Richard Chadakoff of New Rochelle earned the honor.

Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters attorney rating service, compiles its annual list using a patented selection process involving peer nominations, independent research, and peer evaluations. No more than five of attorneys in New York State are selected for the Super Lawyer list each year.

This year, the Super Lawyers organization also recognized litigation associate Lisa Capone of White Plains as a Rising Star, an honor given to no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in New York State who are either younger than age 40 or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

“We are deeply honored that the Super Lawyers organization has recognized five of our professionals, a record number for our firm,” said Joel S. Lever, a founding partner of the law practice which currently has 35 attorneys. “These honors reinforce the excellence of our team. Almost all of our partners and senior attorneys have practiced at major New York City law firms, and they continue to provide sophisticated legal services to clients with complex legal issues and significant commercial transactions. The firm’s work and reputation is widely respected.”

Goldsmith was first named a Super Lawyer in 2009 and has been included on the list every year since then. Beginning in 2013, she has been named one of the top Women Attorneys in the New York Metropolitan area. Goldsmith advises clients in the areas of estate and gift planning, charitable planning, estate administration and planning for closely held businesses. She is co-Managing Partner of the firm, and a member of the exclusive Estate Planning Council of Westchester County Inc.

Berg, a partner in the firm’s real estate department, was first named to the Super Lawyer list last year. In the New York metropolitan area, Berg is considered to be one of the most effective "dirt lawyers," a phrase used to describe legal experts who can work out problematic transactions so that undeveloped or underdeveloped properties can be turned into lucrative assets.

Goldman has been selected for the 2015 Metro New York Super Lawyers List for the first time this year. A partner in the firm’s real estate department, his practice covers all facets of the cooperative/condominium conversion ownership process. Goldman represents cooperative and condominium boards of directors (managers), as well as developers and sponsors of condominium/cooperative offering plans, in the creation and offering for sale of ownership interest in such projects.

Chadakoff has concluded many major commercial real estate transactions for renowned developers and financiers. A deft problem solver and versatile attorney, Chadakoff has been involved in numerous real estate financings, workouts, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, representing lenders, borrowers, buyers and sellers. He was selected as a New York Metro Super Lawyer from 2006 through 2011 and from 2013- 2015.

Capone is an associate in the firm’s litigation department, and is experienced in Surrogate’s Court litigation as well as art law, real estate and commercial litigation. She has helped the firm successfully represent clients in numerous disputes in a wide range of commercial matters, including claims to the title and authenticity of artwork.
